I can't seem to read just one book at a time.
I'm most of the way through Forgotten Kingdom by Peter Goullart, getting in the mood for Lijiang. He was born around the turn of the 20th century in Russia and fled with his mother eventually to Shanghai around the time of the Russian…

Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport is very nice. The big airports like Denver and Atlanta will and can walk you to death trying to catch a connecting flight. And you have to hop on the car rental shuttle and travel to the rental car pick up area. Not here, everyting is compact and to …

First, let me tell you that the main freeway through here is in a major overhaul. So traffic, detours and my GPS didn’t have a good time. And by the time we got into town it was late enough that most things were closed for the day, but workers were still trying to get off work and go home. Snarly…

As of Feb 2008 I left Australia in order to travel the USA visiting family and friends along the way. Starting in California I ventured on to Minnesota, roadtripped to Tennessee and will be off to New York to work at a summer camp in the coming months.
An action packed and eye opening experience so far

Getting home was good. It took me around 5 hours that day. The weather was perfect for arriving back home. Overcast but not cold. Glad to get back. Still waiting for my boots though. . . . . .

So ater an evening camping in the Great Smoky Mountains, I drove north through the comical setup of Gatalinburg and Pidgeon Forge/Dollywood for Knoxville, TN. It would serve as lunch break on my way to Nashville. I parked downtown and wandered into the knoxville welcome center. Th…

I flew from Washington DC to Longbeach CA then my immediate family and I piled into a minivan for a superfast attempt at crossing the US. I took pictures, most of which are from the back seat of the tinted window minivan, but some of which are through the windshield and a few are actually from times we stopped. Enjoy.

"only a pussy would pack out alcohol"... dumb boys... I swear...
Guess who was pucking all night... and day...

Was only in the town for a few minutes at sunrise. Along my trip there are tons of big cities that I just …
