Knock Knock Home Malacca Reviews
Unique boutique homestay experience Sep 06, 2011
Knock knock home is a unique experience suitable for a family, group of friends (up to 4-5 pax) or a couple who desires more space and something other than the regular hotel experience in their travels.
What one gets at Knock knock is the whole upper floor area of the shoplot, with a sizable shower area, lounge, and a sleeping area separated from the living area by a set of sliding glass doors. Both sleeping and lounge areas come with fans and air conditioning to suit visitors' preferences.
Operated by Gus, a semi-retired stock broker from KL who's traded his corporate hectic urban lifestyle to something more laid-back life in Malacca, you'll find it has a simple and peaceful vibe that sets one at ease when settling in.
Its located on Lorong Java (Java lane) which is has rows of pre-war two storey shoplots and can be a tad quiet in the evenings and visitors (especially single ladies) might want to consider travelling in a group or taking a taxi back to knock knock.
I heard that in time to come, the whole immediate area is being earmarked to be the next zone/sector that will see some tourist related refurbishment and development including a flea market and organised heritage walks along this area.
The Malacca river walkway is just a stone's throw away and is a good choice for those who like peaceful walks by the waterway.
Do note that the cost of renting Knock knock might seem high if it were only for one person or a couple of 2. But if the alternative were to be paying for two hotel rooms at a decent tourist class hotel in the vicinity area, the value presented by Knock Knock definitely presents itself.
