Knights Inn Williams Reviews
Convenient gateway to Grand Canyon Dec 17, 2014
It is not always easy to choose your hotel location. We run into such a problem while trying to plan our visit to Grand Canyon. There aren’t really too many hotels in convenient vicinity that wouldn’t require a long drive to visit that iconic place.
After reviewing few various locations within a short distance to Grand Canyon, we finally decided to book a room at Knights Inn Williams.
The hotel is situated about 100 kilometres south from Grand Canyon, an hour drive away, close by the historic Route 66.
One of the great disadvantages of this hotel is provision of meals. There is no such option here. Except for a small ‘continental’ breakfast consisting of some sweet rolls and muffins, juice, tea and coffee you cannot eat in the hotel. Restaurant selection in Williams is not great by any means. Unless you are mobile and willing to drive to nearby Flagstaff (about 30-minute drive), this hotel will not be a good choice for you.
The hotel itself is quite pleasant with rather modestly decorated rooms and providing all the necessary amenities.
The rooms are spacious and equipped with a TV, a coffee maker, a microwave and a refrigerator.
Décor is simple and mainly based on a mixture of beige and brown colours which make the rooms look relaxed.
The bathroom was rather small but the hotel implemented an interesting solution to the problem. They positioned a sink and a hair-dryer in a little alcove outside the bathroom on the opposite side of it. This was the first time I saw this kind of a brilliant solution enabling usage of shower and hand-washing facilities without disturbance. Needless to mention, you could find all toiletries provided.
Cleanliness here was not an issue. Both the room and the bathroom were maintained clean and tidy.
Free parking at the hotel’s car park and free Wi-Fi are available.
Price paid for a night’s stay - €50.
Even though the place does not offer any meal option, it is worth consideration for a stay as a convenient getaway to visit Grand Canyon. Moreover, it ticks off most of the boxes required for a comfortable stay.
