Knights Inn Racine Reviews
Only In A Pinch Jul 30, 2011
On our trip to Racine this year (2011), we needed to find an affordable motel. In searching the Choice Hotels website, we found that they didn't have any available rooms. Motel 6--a chain we used to stay with all the time--doesn't have any rooms in Racine, with the closest one being a motel that we have stayed at previously that we would never stay at again. Even the Wyndham properties website was showing very little in the way of rooms, and they actually showed this hotel as unavailable but we were able to book it through hotels.com.
At check-in, the clerk behind the counter wasn't friendly or helpful at all, answering the phone and talking on the phone the whole time she was checking me in and shoving the agreement paper at me to sign without saying anything about it.
This Knights Inn consists of four separate single level buildings, and the parking lot road was extremely narrow, especially when going around the curve to actually drive to the other buildings, I was always scared of someone coming the other way and us colliding.
The room was fairly clean. The carpet looked like it needed cleaning, and it didn't go all the way to the wall on the side of the room with the bed.
While there was a coffee pot, microwave, and fridge in the room, there were essentially no bathroom amenities at this hotel. They didn't even have soap in the room, and we had to stop at the office to get some, where they had a big container of soap that they pulled four little bars from to give us.
Continental breakfast: orange and apple juice, coffee, and donuts. Surprisingly, I think this was better than some of the Choice Hotels offerings for continental breakfast.
Very little around this hotel but if you don't mind walking a little bit, there is more.
Room keys are actually keys and not the magnetic card.
