Klidzina Hotel Reviews
Klidzina Hotel Jul 11, 2014
This hotel located at the main road somewhere in the middle of little town in Latvia, and nowhere close to any city. Not much to see around the area except the National park which is located not far from the hotel. Unfortunately we do not have time to explore the park since it was late and too dark to walk inside it. There are plenty parking space in front of the hotel which is free and near the parking space plenty of fruits sellers in the morning and afternoon.
The hotel does not have any reception area, we just went to the hotel restaurant to ask if they have room available when we arrive at night time almost 8pm. The restaurant itself very cosy with big fire place and old wood seating and decoration.
We were quite lucky able to find the last room available at this place since it was getting dark and we did not see many hotel open along the high way or in the city we had passed while drive and we do not want to drive to Riga Latvia at night time.
Our room located at the first floor of the hotel building, and we need a special key to enter the building to get to the room, which is separate from the restaurant. The room itself was okay, has anything we need with modern décor and big window on one side of the wall facing the main road and parking area. It has a small cupboard, and flat screen television.
The bathroom was modern enough with glass shower and cold and hot water work well. Plenty of towels and soap available. No air condition at this place (but it was cold enough at night time). Internet connection is free in the whole building and it was quite fast.
The room cost €60 per night without breakfast. We purchased the breakfast coupon from the restaurant staff and breakfast available at the café beside the hotel restaurant, since the hotel restaurant itself only open for dinner.
The wall was quite thin, we can hear people talking next door and door slamming every time someone go out. Luckily it was quite at night time and we can sleep well.
The hotel restaurant open until 9.30pm for dinner. We check the other café next door from the hotel restaurant which has selection of ready food (unfortunately not much food selection as the place almost close for the day), anyway we dine at this place since it was late and I was starving. The food was okay, nothing special. The advantage of this place - the food was ready and do not have to wait to cook it. It was quite cheap but do not remember the cost.
The next morning we had breakfast at this place with the coupon from the hotel. We had choice of omelette, boil egg, bread, tea or coffee. When I want the sausage, I had to pay extra for it which cost €5 for the sausage itself. The breakfast itself not a good value for money, it probably more expensive – cheaper to pay directly to the café than purchase from the hotel.
