Klaksvik Vacation Guide
Klaksvík is the second largest town of the Faroes. The town is located on Borðoy, which is one of the northern islands (in Faroese: Norðoyar).
Klaksvík is located between two islets lying back to back. It has an important harbour with fishing industry and a modern fishing fleet. Originally, four farms were located where Klaksvík is now. Gradually, they grew into four villages that finally merged to form the town of Klaksvík. What triggered the development of the town was the establishment of a centralized store for all the northern islands on the location.
The Norðoyatunnilin, a submarine tunnel to Leirvík was opened in April 2006, so now Klaksvík is easily accessible;)))
