Kirketon Hotel Sydney - by 8Hotels

After several weeks of searching for a reasonably priced room, we happened onto the Kirketon and booked it immediately for the great rate.

We spent 10 nights at the Kirketon in late November with another friend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The rooms were sheik and stylish had a nice closet and space to spread out and enjoy our stay. The in-room safe was perfect to store our laptop and other valuables in while we were out and about each day. The hotel location was a great central location, just a few steps to the Kings Cross nightlife and a quick walk to the Oxford Street bars as well.

The staff was accommodating and helpful with any requests or questions we had. The free access to the gym (which is just down the street and a full service gym) was great and nice to be able to work out on our longer stay.

The only thing we could think of, was that our room could have been vacuumed a little more often during the stay. With darker carpet in the rooms, it show lint and such and while certainly not every day, a few more times would have been nice. As we were going to the gym most days and also showering more than once a day with the heat and all the walking we did touring we requested towels from the front desk several times. Most days, they had them available at the front office, however several days, they had to go looking in the housekeeping closets. Not a big deal to us, but would have been nice for the staff if they didn't have to go running floor to floor to get us towels.

Overall a delightful stay, the internet worked great, and we would definitely stay again and recommend to others. On behalf of the Kirketon, to all those who complain about the small rooms/hotel, it's a boutique hotel, it's meant to be quaint, and simple. For the money, the Kirketon was a steal for the nice rooms and friendly staff.

Good small hotel. Nice staff. Locatet close to Kings Cross, a place for backpacker. Lots af places to eat and many small cafées. 30 min. walk to 'down town'.
