Kingman Overview

Official Tourism Site:

Kingman (population 28,000) is conveniently located on Interstate 40 and is the perfect launching point for "Route 66 and Beyond." Scenic hiking, historic charm, great cafes and restaurants, and the allure of Route 66 combine to make Kingman a remarkable destination. Kingman can also be an ideal layover spot on the way to the Grand Canyon.

Kingman is home to the world's first and only museum dedicated to electric vehicles. White Cliffs Wagon Trail, near Historic Downtown Kingman, is one of the few places in the American Southwest where wagon ruts can still be observed etched out in the rock. It was en route to the gold rush of Stockton Hill around 1890, about 8 miles north of town. The Mohave Museum of History & Arts has one of only three complete collections of presidential portraits on display.

Hualapai Mountain Park is a cool retreat from the hot, arid desert during the summer months and a beautiful winter wonderland in the winter months. Enjoy majestic views, hiking, biking, picnicking, camping and the abundant wildlife that make their home in the Hualapai Mountains.
