The hotel is well situated, Dokki neighborhood, where all embassies and good hotels are. There is a big street 3 blocks away, where you can buy groceries, clothes and eat at good cafeterias. No hot water in my room, good air conditioning, small TV. For $40 is a good bargain.

I later discovered that Egyptian drivers are mad, no road rules, traffic lights are for decoration only! So finally to the King Hotel, it was basic but clean and they had a lovely roof top restaurant. Vaughan and I had been travelling for 36 hours inclusive of delays so we just went straight to bed! … Oh the joy of delays!
