Free outdoor entertainment for the kids Jun 26, 2011
As it was a nice day we decided to take the kids out for a little bit. As they all love animals (as most kids do I expect) we opted for this petting zoo a short drive away. It is located on the edge of the town of Veendam, in the recreation area of Borgerswold which consists of 450 hectares of grounds including 100 hectares of water.

The petting zoo is pretty good. First of all entry is free. It is quite big with some seats under the trees, which was very pleasant today. There are plenty of animals such as goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and all sorts of birds. The kids are allowed to pet and hold them, and if they're lucky even feed them. Last time the kids were there they got to bottle feed a kid! (baby goat)

There is also a cafe where you can buy all sorts of drinks and ice cream, and they also do cream teas and such. Kid's birthday parties can also be arranged.

All in all a nice outing with the kids.
