Killyrudden Bed & Breakfast Tairua

Killyrudden is a three storied hillside home built on the side of an old (extinct) volcano, known locally as Mount Paku, which is the northern shore of the Tairua Harbour entrance. From all rooms your view is of the ever-changing tidal patterns of the harbour and beyond the volcanic peaks of the skyline. The rooms open onto elevated decks and from there guests may enjoy dramatic sights as the sun sets behind "The Pinnacles". As Margaret is a keen gardener, the years have seen the dense undergrowth cleare...(see more)d and replaced by landscaping and planting in mostly native species of shrubs and trees, many of which over time have grown to large specimens. As this locality abounds in native bird-life, we encourage their presence with our feeding station - much to guests delight. Killyrudden is a smoke-free home but we do supply ash trays on the decks outside the rooms.
