Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum Jan 08, 2013
One million died in one hundered days in Rwanda in 1994.Neighbours turned against each other...killed each other....visiting this place made me realize that reading books at home is one thing, but learning about history in the exact country is another.

The visit here made me too emotional.I was angry.Confused.And I couldn't believe what this people went through. They lived in fear.Women killed at home upfront of there children.5year olds attacked. The videos of the genocide survivors saying how they would never forgive meaning the genocide impacted them mentally. Most felt useless.Afraid if love Afraid of life.

This place is a complete tearjerker I must agree and I left the museum with hope and appreciation.A moving experience....stories if people who stayed strong despite the circumstances taught me to value the simple things in life:-) that things can always go wrong in a very short time and a morning spent at the genocide Memorial museum is one that I will never forget.

I can understand that you won't forget your visit there. And one would hope that people who are in the lead should learn from history. But I am afraid it is not as simple as that...
