Was a good airport to fly / in out of.. Mar 25, 2011
Before traveling to Ukraine I was a bit concerned about transiting through this airport but once there it was all good. Everyone was professional. Not many interactions with shady cab people. I reccomend it!

Food was great as well as the duty free, Ukraine Vodka is the best....

Kiev Boryspil International Airport is the biggest airport form Ukraine. Not much choice to choose a different. Nothing exciting, just normal.

Average but functional airport Apr 26, 2008
Kiev's International airport, Boryspil is situated approximately 40-45 minutes from the city and is connected by a modern eight lane highway. Most cabs charge around $40-$45 one way, however if you shop around, you can find one for $30.

The International terminal is average in size for a Soviet designed airport. The domestic terminal is pathetic, but there aren't many domestic destinations so it serves its purpose. If however, you have a connecting domestic flight on Aero Svit, don't expect your bags to be tagged to your final destination. After customs, you will need to change terminals and re-check.

Expect to be bussed to and from your plane, wind rain or snow. For its average size, Boryspil has a disproportionately high percentage of touts, pickpockets and scam artists. One can usually spot them from a mile away, but even the most frequent traveler can get fooled. See my other reviews on General Tips and Advice for more details.

If you plan to get your bag wrapped, allow 20-30 minutes extra. Not sure why but there are two things I have noticed while traveling in Russia and Ukraine 1) Everyone likes to get their bags wrapped 2) Everyone carries excess baggage and gladly pays for it without making a fuss - especially in Russia. I found myself in a long line but eventually made it.

If you are traveling business class don't expect that the dedicated line to be only business class passengers.

After passport control, check out the Irish Pub or the duty free. Don't forget the best Vodka is made in Ukraine, not Russia - Nemiroff!!

The Business class lounge is adequate, but Wifi is a paid service (around $1.40/hour)
