Kidepo National Park Overview

Kidepo National Park is the most remote of Uganda's National Parks, tucked right up by the South Sudanese border. Travel has only recently been safe to the region but is now fine, which means that the tourists are still thin on the ground.

The game suffered from poaching, but is rapidly recovering with increased stability. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see Ostriches and Cheetahs, and the only park in Uganda where you can get zebras and giraffes in the same picture. Kidepo is another rift valley, with some small hot springs, and the Kidepo river itself is a dry sand river most of the time.
