An awesome place to stay. Super inexpensive and spacious. Free internet and plenty of computers to use. Nice neighborhood. Lots of lockers for valuables (big and small). Some are even big enough for your entire backpack and laptop,etc. They will keep your luggage before or after you check out. Friendly staff. Japanese and English speaking. Possibly other languages. Clean. Plenty of bathrooms and showers. I would stay in these exclusively when I travel if they were everywhere.
Do take note that I am writing about the Annex. There are three Khaosan hostels in Tokyo, the Guesthouse, Smile and Guesthouse Annex. I stayed at two of them. The guesthouse was good, just smaller than the annex. It is a great second choice if the annex is booked, which is why I stayed there one night. The annex is definately the way to go! If you've stayed at Smile, let me know what that one is like.
