We made a trip to the Temple of Kertagosa which Is Located in the heart of Klungkung regency, next to the main market, A small fee to Enter the Temple is to be paid and people wearing shorts must take and wear a Sarong, Kerta Gosa has been renovated and preserved by the government. Within the walls there are two high-rise buildings that stand, called Gosa and Bale Bale Akerta Kambang. Akerta Gosa Bale is a tall building on right hand corner after the entrance, as well as larger Kambang Bale located in the center and surrounded by the pool. There many traditional Balinese carvings a water fountain at the edge of Kambang Bale. The surrounds are beautifully gardened and flowered.
Besides the beautiful architecture of the temple, Kerta Gosa has a unique painted ceiling covered with paintings in the traditional Kamasan style. Kamasan is a village in Klungkung regency which has earned a name for painting bazaar puppets. Kamasan paintings usually take epics like Ramayana or Mahabharata as the theme. Kamasan paintings usually found in temples as a decoration have many meanings...
