Kerrville is considered by many to be the "Heart of the Hill Country." It is situated 65 miles nw of San Antonio and 100 miles sw of Austin. I-10 has three exits for Kerrville.

This small city of about 24,000 packs a lot into it. Scenic beauty and year-round outdoor activity are its claim to fame; the Guadalupe River courses through town and is flanked by ever-green hilltops. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and boating activites combine with golf, tennis, hiking and biking activities.

Culture is important to the area and the Cailloux Theater hosts community theater, Symphony of the Hills, and national and international touring productions. The Museum of Western Art is dedicated to the preservation of western art, the Riverside Nature Center offers self-guide nature trails, and the Hill Country Shooting Sports Center is an official Olympic Training Site.
