Finland, july 2001: Kerimaki Travel Photos

Went to Finland, landed in Helsinki (the capital) and rent a car which took us to the North for about 9 days (we drove 2175 miles). We drove back, from about 30 miles north of Rovaniemi (when we past the arctic circle). Finland is a nice countrty, with friendly but rather formal people. Thousands of lakes; you'll definitely cross a deer, and maybe even a bear... Worth the try!

Rond half één gingen we weer verder met Ellen achter het stuur. Zij zorgde ervoor dat we Kerimäki rond een uur of twee bereikten. Deze plaats staat bekend om het feit dat hier de grootste houten kerk ter wereld staat en die konden we niet zomaar voorbij rijden. De kerk zelf was erg mooi en dat lieten we rustig op ons inwerken. Daarna brachten we ook een bezoek aan de toren die voor de kerk stond. Je kon hier naar boven klimmen met een trap die treden had die minstens 30 cm. uit elkaar la...
