A big trip with my mom (my dad did not want to come with us because of the long flight) to Kenya! We were very excited and prepared! Everything was planned through a Swiss travel company inclunding a safari tour what is a must in Kernia! I still remember that trip very well! Kenia is a beautiful place and I especially enjoyed the safari days! My first trip with a "real" camera!

Mombasa is the most diverse citiy for it's size that I have ever visited. I suppose that is partly due to Mombasa's very long history and partly due to the location of the city in an important crossroads of civilization.  One of the attractions that was new to me was the Swaminarayan…

A safari is usually the last word in colonial style and you'll have the choice of staying in a range of accommodation - anything from mobile tented camps, to fine old lodges steeped in tradition, to modern hotels designed to blend in with their surroundings. The wildlife is the prime attraction of Kenya safaris, which take place in some of Africa's best-known national parks, including the Masai Mara, Naivasha and Lake Nakuru which i remembered and tried

I decided to volunteer with GVN because I really wanted to go to Rwanda. But they couldn't fit me into the Rwandan program and as I love Kenya (I was there after my Honours year doing the safari thing) I got talked into doing the Kenyan Orphanage program instead. For those not familiar with the vol…

Nairobi, 70s with showers. Typical. The hotel I stayed at had a mall, so I didn't have to go out much, except to get the story I was being paid to get, but that was so easy I got it done in one day and had the next 3 days to myself before heading off to Darfur. So what'd I do? Headed off to safari …

I missed breakfast again, probably not eat since I arrived in Africa. Managed to stock up on a few things for he journey. We waited, the hostel staff and I, around for an age for the bus. The scenery was nothing like imagined, very dusty, red dirt, flat plains with sporadic & enormous mounds in ev…
