Charleston, WV to Bardstown, KY., Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Ft Knox

Getting out of Charleston, WV., continued to be a challange. Once I got my self free from the mud, I almost got killed by an alligator. For those who don't know what an alligator is to a road traveler, it is the body of a tire after it has blown out and the tread gets thrown on the road. I was following a coal truck when one of his rear tires blew and almost hit me. Bardstown, KY., is a little town I had visited in the 1980" when I was working for Vidal Sassoon. There was a plastic bottle p...

Lindas Wedding

Although I had traveled to Louisville prior to this trip, the thrill of getting to re-experience the city was overwhelming. My best friend's sister has lived in Kentucky since her days in college and this was my third trip to see her; however, this was a special trip. I received a late night phone call months before explaining that Linda was engaged and to marry a wonderful man. I could not pass up the opportunity so I drove twelve hours for an experience that I will never forget. [Friday] Th...

With the growing depression of being holed up in my childhood home becoming prevalant, I decided to pack up all my belongings (once again), clear my mind and return to a preferred lifestyle: wanderer. In other words, I'm moving to Los Angeles for work and need one month of travel to feed my wandering spirit. This time, it is in my own country.

I got a letter in the mail from the Peanut. She wrote it all by herself!!!!! I swear, she is the smartest baby ever. She now knows how to write all her letters and she is 4 years old. I can't wait to see her in two weeks, I am literally counting the days. We ate at the Ruby Tuesdays in Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday during our marathon bus ride. They said that Birmingham is the test market for all Ruby Tuesdays... well guess what they are testing. A REALLY SMALL MENU. They took off all the...

Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Frankfort Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.
