Kennon Road Viewpoint Baguio City Reviews
View of the Road and the Mountain Range Dec 13, 2014
With the construction of several alternative route to Baguio, Kennon Road which was the original road is not so much in use nowadays. It is a known fact that this long and winding road is somewhat dangerous and though it is still passable, most motorists prefer to pass by the newly constructed alternative routes because they are safer, more comfortable and takes less travel time.
But, not passing through this road would mean forgetting about it because the tourism sector of Baguio constructed a viewing deck that makes it possible for the visitors to still see the long and winding road. The deck was constructed at a high point along the road giving an obstructed view beneath. Aside from the road, the vegetable plantation and the mountain range are clearly visible from the viewpoint.
On the small corner along the road, the statue of American soldier Lt. Lyman W. Kennon was erected. Lt. Kennon was the man behind this wonderful Kennon road, thus naming it after him.
