This is actually the fun part when we joined TravBuddy at a later date, I mean when a whole bunch of buddies had signed up before us - we're kind of having this urge to backtrack and fine-tune our memory to gather as much detailed information as we could about our past travel experience to turn it …

DAY 1-Kelowna to London
posted by:
Jul 02, 2009 – Jul 25, 2009
I had to wake up early today, as I was traveling home. I had the taxi service arrive at 7:15 to take me to Schiphol airport. The traffic was quite sparse until we actually go to the airport, so it didn’t take long to get there- maybe 20 minutes. The airport was incredibly busy, so I was thankful …

(cont'd...) At four o'clock in the afternoon we reached city of Kelowna, just when I was about to get completely bored. Sightseeing while driving is great, but 13 long hours for a single day...well, next time I'll fly. Kelowna is located in the Lower Okanagan Valley of Bri…

The journey to London

I asked my mom to drive me to the Kelowna airport, and we couldn’t get there fast enough. I was so excited to be going to London. It had been a long year of University, and I had just finished my first teaching practicum, and I was burnt out, so this vacation couldn’t have come at a better time…

Getting my hockey fix

Oct 01, 2008 – Nov 16, 2008
If you have read some of my other posts you will know my love of hockey is often combined with my love of travel.  Since I was going to be spending weeks in countries where hockey is at best a distant rumour I started my trip to the city of Kelowna 400 km from my home.  I simply jumped in…

Getting ready for Edmonton

So, I have been in Kelowna since I left Yellowknife on the 14th of December. It was pretty scary quitting my job and leaving the town I know and love so much, but it is changing. There are too many drug addicts roaming the downtown streets. I used to stroll the side walks or walk into a bar and kno…

We headed straight for the Kelowna Visitor Information Centre for some ideas of things to do. The practical choice was to go go-karting. Several loops of the track and a couple hours later, we were on our way out of Kelowna, but first... a stop at Kelowna Land and Orchard. It had some rather flashy…

Just a stopover for a couple of nights, while I work eastwards towards Grizzly Bear Ranch. Trip from Merritt was not nice - had to go over a pass at 1700m - above the snow line. My car doesn't have winter-tyres or snow-chains, so it was not a nice drive.

The plan is to start out from Vancouver, going east on highway 3, 97 N and 99/1 back to Vancouver. We were very roadtrip-y: not much luggage or shopping. As we headed towards Hope and Chilliwack, traffic started to dwindle to none. We stopped for local honey farm in Chilliwack. The farm provide…
