Well worth the visit Jun 14, 2013
If you visit Kochi, Japan this is a sight worth seeing. It is one of the few remaining castles that were not destroyed during World War II or torn down by the government. Be warned it can be a bit of a climb especially in hot weather. But the view from every angle is spectacular. Climbing the steps to the castle grounds is a bit tough as every step is a different height. We were told this was done purposely to aid in the castle's defense. Once you reach the actual castle, there are stairs up several levels. The stairs are wood and you cannot wear your shoes inside so be careful as the stairs can get slippery. Well worth the climb as the view is excellent. Lots of great photo opportunities everywhere from the entry gates at the lowest level to the very top of the castle.
