Kayaking Abel Tasman Reviews

Aug 07, 2007
Kayaking Abel Tasman is an unforgettable experience. This is a beautiful area and you will find yourself gliding past seals and deserted islands.

You can rent kayaks from several different places for around $60NZD for a half day, all equipment included. You can rent single or double kayaks. Companies also offer tours which a guide to show you the area. Generally the guides go over safety procedures with you and make sure you know how to use a kayak. The guide came out with our group for about 20 minutes just so he could make sure everyone knew what they were doing! Just make sure you listen to the instructions because I missed the part on how to tighten the brakes so when I first got out on the water I was pretty wobbly and the guide thought I was incapable of kayaking until I realized what the problem with my kayak was...haha.

I recommend bringing a waterproof camera!
