Crappy neighbourhood, but some nice views from a Kaunas landmark. Aug 04, 2010
It's one of Kaunas' landmarks so I had to visit it anyway, ofcourse by taking the funicular up the hill. Although it's just a short way up it's fun to take this instead of walking, besides it costs only Lt. 0,50 and brings you right next to the church.

The area around this church (built in 1932-1940, although the style might let you think it was built later) is a bit crappy, old warehouse buildings and so. Otherwise it still offers a great roofterrace with a view over the city. Ofcourse there are the factories and soviet flats spoiling the view, but that's the case in most eastern european cities anyway. Besides, they're quite far away.

The church on the inside isn't that special, unless you have a special religious interest.
