lessons learned while travelling... while write a follow up when ready :)   PLEASE COMMENT hehe bottled water is the biggest rip off known to mankind reading a book in a hostel common room or backpacker cafe means: "if you think we fit together, talk to me", reading a lonely planet there means "talk to me, i'm desperate!" don't listen to people recommending good hiking boots for tourist hiking tracks, teva sandals are almost always fine if the temperature allows for it for...

Nachdem die Wanderung gestern ob der Hitze recht anstrengend war, habe ich heute beschlossen, nicht ganz so aktiv zu sein, sondern meine CouchSurfing-Gastgeberin zu einem nahen Fluß zu begleiten. Der Fluß war in einem der umgebenden Täler und wir sind mit dem Auto bis ans Ufer gefahren. Die Straße hat so wie der Weg gestern durch unterschiedliche Waldgebiete geführt, erst durch den Eukalyptuswald, dann Regenwald und ganz unten am Fluß hat es beinahe wieder so ausgesehen wie zuhause. Ey up all, Well, I have gotten out of Sydney - the Great Escape as it were. Although Sydney is a lovely, lively metropolis I feel that it was just not for me. Coming away to Aus was an act of liberation and exploration on my part and I have decided that I really need to go with my gut instincts while I am here and do what feels right. So... A two-hour train journey takes you from Sydney centre to Katoomba, the basepoint for the Blue Mountains, so called because of the haze given off from the eucalypts surrounding them. Still with memories and some scars from the hard walking we did in Wilsons Prom, we were apprehensive about dusting off the walking shoes so soon.
