Nothing is more precious to the hard core Bangalorian than the 2 words "Gandhi Bazaar". It's been around forever, and despite India's "modernisation" continues to retain its old world feel and charm. The area is very well shaded, lots of trees and very cool. Also, it's a walker's paradise - fruit and veg vendors, flowers (we Hindus use to adorn our idols with) and of course the food! Second day started off with the usual breakfast... and next we decided to go to the Virupaksha temple. There was an tamed young elephant near the entrance... was nice to feed it some bananas, give it some coins and get blessed with a tap on the head with its trunk!! We took a guide to explain the history of the temple, and like the Vishnu temple, this one also has the "musical pillars". I took these pictures on the day before my departure. Although Bengaluru is my home and I go often on holiday, this particular trip was a business trip so I didn't get much time to look around. I only had weekends.

First stop in India was Bangalore. I did not stay there as I got a pick up to go to Mysore straight away.
I have been in Mysore for the past 2 weeks and I love it here. This is a great place if you want to study yoga. Great teachers and quality yoga. I am studing with Barath Shetty which I have to say is amazing. He is going to be as famous as Pattabi Jois. I am convince of this. His technique is Hatta - Iyengar and I have learned more in 2 weeks than in 2 years in London. He is very seriou…
