Karlsplatz Nov 08, 2012
If you are interested in the Succession building, the decorative arts of Wagner and the Beethoven Frieze by Klimt, then this is a must see. Lunch at the Nachsmarkt is a must. What's actually more interesting, is the walkway beneath Karlsplatz, that takes you over to the Opera. It's huge, with all kinds of shops, news stands etc. They've just reopened it after having done renovations this past summer (2012) It's also part of the U-Bahn, but walking through is free.Karlsplatz lies in the very heart of Vienna and from here, the historic centre of Vienna starts. This is a beautiful street that one must not miss at if one happens to be Vienna. Nearest U Bahn station is U Bahnhof Karlsplatz and it is very well connected by U Bahn, Buses and Trams. This street looks astonishingly beautiful esp. during the evenings.
