Karle Wilson Baker Statue, Nacogdoches, Texas USA Sep 08, 2015
While visiting in Europe a visited many an old expensive statue of historic figures. I wondered why Nacogdoches had no statues. Well, they do and I have been driving past the statue for years on Mound St. between downtown and the University.
I finally happened to notice the nice statue of Karle Wilson Baker. She was around at the late 1800s and early 1900s. I dont know what she did but it must have been something important. The statue is in good shape and not covered with bird droppings.
Later while cruising Mound St. I found another statue there by the old hospital. It was for the "country doctor", a generic honor.
I am wanting to show you here old structors and statues like in the old cities of Europe; but next I will show you the new barn. LOL
