Karaoke in Japan Travel Reviews

Karaoke in Japan is an experience that no one should miss! In Japan when you go out for Karaoke you do not sing at a bar in front of people, instead you get your own room for just you and the people you are singing with.
My favorite place to sing at is any one of the numerous Shidax karaoke places in Japan. They have a terrific selection of English songs and a wonderful nomi-hodai (all you can drink menu). For $35 you get unlimited time in the karaoke book (which is called free time) and the nomi-hodai. You can sing and drink from 9pm until 5am. What you do is go to a Shidax, tell them you want to free time /nomi-hodai, and then they will assign you a room. Each room is equipped with two microphones, two or three music books, and a remote to enter your song choices. You just look up the song you want to sing by artist or title, enter the song number into the karaoke machine by using the remote, and then you are ready to go. If you can read kanji then you can have the karaoke machines rate your songs or tell you how many calories you burned by singing. Karaoke is an experience that you must try if you are in Japan.
