Karaoke Bungalow Yokohama Reviews
Karaoke fun times in Yokohama Dec 15, 2013
Karaoke Bungalow is located off the Sotetsu Kibagaoka station in Yokohama Japan. This karaoke establishment, along with other Karaoke establishments are open pretty much throughout the night, allowing for people to stay the night and immerse their drunken tomfoolery into karaoke songs, while the train stations are shut down at night.
This one had a relaxing atmosphere and was able to accommodate myself and a dozen of my wife's friends with ease. Their soft drink, liquor and food selection is decent. I've been to many Karoake bars and clubs before and this one suffices to entertain. Like many others, rooms are rented on an hourly basis. A different variety of rooms are offered in the building to accommodate the different sizes of each party that visits.
The selection karaoke boxes had a wide variety of Japanese, Korean and some Western songs. Being still immersed in American culture, I was a tad bit disappointed in their lack of popular western songs, which many Japanese Karaoke clubs normally have. They do have those hit international singles and some classic American rock songs (which I lean toward when I sing). For Americans, be aware of the learning curve involved when it comes to figuring out how the wireless karaoke device works as all the menu options are in Kanji.
Karaoke Bungalow, like other karaoke bars among the Yokohama nightlife scene, offers a variety of food and beverages ranging from hamburgers and fries to cakes to imported beers and liquor. The food is adequate yet not to be taken granted for as this is not a restaurant. Orders for food seemed to have a longer than usual turn around time to arrive, however people don't normally arrive here for the food. It was enjoyable to laugh at myself, my wife and others singing (ahem defiling) the songs. This fine establishment did produce some fond memories.
Overall Karaoke Bungalow was a worthwhile experience. Would go again if we ever happen to miss the last train again.
