Durian stalls along Karak Highway Mar 19, 2014
The other name of Karak Highway is Kuala Lumpur – Karak Expressway or Karak Expressway AH141. It connects the capital city of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) with a town named Karak in Pahang state. It is a 60 km controlled-access highway or motorway in Malaysia.
If you are driving on the highway during durian season, be sure to stop by at the durian stalls located along the road. There are two to three small stalls set up for people to satisfy their cravings.
Most international travellers do not like this fruit because of the strong smell, but it is called the 'King of Fruits' for a reason :)
Musang King is the most popular and expensive type of durian. It can reach up to RM40-50 per kilogram. The flesh is sweet and bright yellow in colour.
You can get durian easily from many other places in Malaysia - the marketplace, restaurants, stalls around any city. But eating durian by the road side is quite an experience, right?
Durian is a must-try fruit if you visit Malaysia. We have other dish made by Durian such as durian cake, bubur pulut durian, crepe durian, tempoyak and many more.
