Kandy Muslim Hotel Reviews
Tasty, interesting and cheap! Feb 12, 2012
For dinner we selected Lonely Planets pick: Kandy Muslim Hotel. We just visited the Temple of the Tooth and had a good appetite. It was not far to walk and very easy to find.
Kandy muslim hotel is a very simple small eatery.
It looked dirty, but nevertheless it seemed to be a promising dinner. The guests were both locals and tourists. Behind us was a French family eating delicious-looking dishes. We asked the waiter to bring us the same. It turned out to be the famous so-called Kotthu Rotti. We immediately knew what the guy in front of the restaurant was doing. Occasionally you would hear an earsplitting sound, that was the rotti guy chopping the dish against the griddle.
It was delicious and cheap. The prices here give an indication of what the locals pay for their food. Service was very efficient and friendly.
If I will return to Kandy someday, I will eat here again, for sure!
