Our journey out of Bangkok ended suddenly a few kilometres out of Ayuthaya, where the driver of our bus declared, "Get off now, we're here!!" Actually we weren't there and even though in Bangkok you have to shoo the Tuk Tuk drivers away here you have the oposite problem, there isn't a Tuk Tuk…

Budapest, Hungary -› Bangkok, Thailand -› …
It started a bit bad as I went on an organized trip from Bangkok to the Bridge of Kwai, the waterfall in the national park, and of course the Tiger temple. I was quite sleepy and hangover to begin with, and don't really like beeing herded around like a sheep. As a true backpacker i never…

Phuket, Thailand -› Phi Phi, Thailand -› …
Today's tour was Kanchanaburi & Tiger Temple... it was our most expensive one too, 2,400 baht ($109... would've been cheaper if the exchange rate was higher, it should've cost $80. Oh well.) The JEATH War "museum" wasn't a museum at all, it was a merely a hut with photographs & news article…

We started in Bangkok and as the trip unfolded, we continued our journey on every mode of transportation imaginable, stopping in Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, and the Perhentian Islands off the coast of Malaysia before reaching Singapore a month later. It was an adventure of a lifetime that left an indelible memory for both of us!

Hong Kong -› Bangkok, Thailand -› …
After a mini bus ride back to Bangkok and a few days to take care of laundry we jumped into another mini bus to Kanchanaburi. On holidays I normally do not look to go to places of sad history, just not my thing. However due to my personal connection to Japan and the fact long ago ,when …

Koh Lipe, Thailand -› Trang, Thailand -› …
We decided to head to the Erawan Water Falls today and couldn't face the prospect of the local bus chugging along or being on some awful organised tour so we decided to hire a motorbike. Adam had to leave his passport as security for the bike which is always a bit worrying but it was only 200 …

Not much sleep doesn't do Faye any good. Especially when I had to get up at 6.30 in the morning. But it was all well worth it. What a day. First was a visit to the bridge over the River Kwai, I went under it, walked on it and went to a museum all about it. Me and my da…

This morning was another really early start. An early breakfast again and gathering our essentials for a 7am start we hurled out of bangkok at good pace missing the early chaos coming into bangkok. We watched as we left the city the literally millions of commuters on bikes, cars and vans raced into…

We had booked this tour from New Zealand, and although we really liked being in this area. It was OK, but we felt a bit rushed at times. We hadn't realised we didn't have anything for the second day - as you stay over and apparently we were suppose to book something (banana boat tour or an elephant…

Leaving Bangkok made me nervous. I don't buy this line of thinking that says Bangkok isn't the 'real Asia', cos it's real enough for those millions of people who live in the city - they're not there for my benefit. But somehow the trip didn't seem real until I left the place.Left my room, bought so…
