Kanai Princess RV Park Cooper Landing Reviews
Kanai Princess RV Park Sep 16, 2014
Kanai Princess RV Park is a bit of higher quality parks because it is right next to the Kenai Princess Lodge that has beautiful deck and a good restaurant. Princess is located in Cooper Landing, small village spread around bridge on Kanai Lake. Actually it is couple miles down the river on the beautiful forest covered hill. It is funny to see so many warnings about wild life, especially bears. There is a very nice path that follows the river and starts from hotel. If you use it in the mornings, you should bring your bear spray and get ready to use it if needed.
I was there in the best time of the year, august, and I had only few days of short rain and lots of incredibly beautiful summer days. Surrounding simply shines during days like that. This area is famous for fishing and I had to go fishing too which is one of my least favorite things to do. Day ended with full boat of fish, some salmon and trout, just enough for big party eating all you can eat heheh. Prior to this trip I caught only one fish in my life…
You get to RV Park by turning just a bit before hotel parking area. It is well marked and on the bottom of the short road there is reception and store building. Actually that building hosts most of the things you will need. Store is filled with junk food and you don’t want it (they don’t even have beer). On the side there is laundry area, coin operated and very clean. It is good place to socialize and enjoy sitting outside on the benches while your stuff is getting washed. On the back there is excellent bathroom and shower area. Showers are also coin operated and they last around ten minutes (they are very hot). Pretty good, especially because I am a bit too big for RV shower… End of the RV area is edged with cliff that features great views of surrounding mountains and river right below you. It is my favorite place to sit on the fence at night and spend some quality time chatting with new made friends.
Park has around 30 places for RVs and easy hook-ups for septic and power. There are picnic tables almost everywhere so it is pretty cozy. At the end of the Park they have few houses that you can also rent. I haven’t been inside, but it looks big and nice. In general everything is organized very well. Ladies that work at reception/store front, are super nice and they mostly volunteer in local Library and make some good food parties… If you need any tour ideas such as fishing, climbing, tracking, there is a tour desk at the hotel that you can use. Most of the people come there from cruise liners that drop them there for fishing and wild life sightseeing. It is very easy to join any of the groups, and guides are very knowledgeable and experienced.
