Kampala Sheraton Jul 13, 2014
The Sheraton is a large hotel in central Kampala, set in parkland on a hill close to the Garden City Mall and just next to the Independence Monument. It is expensive, at about $250 a night.

Facilities include a nice outdoor swimming pool, a good sauna and steam room, a gym, an in-house massage place, and a bar that does nice food. There's also reasonable free wifi. Breakfast is a good size buffet and there were plenty of options.

The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were nice.

This is very much a business hotel, and you could be practically anywhere, but it is very secure and the pool is nice.

K-town in Style Mar 05, 2012
I went to a family wedding In Uganda. Despite the fact we had family members locally, I decided with a few other relatives to stay in the Sheraton hotel for a few nights as the wedding we were attending was being held in the compound and the reception area was hired out. The staff were amazing and so friendly. Like most of the people on this beautiful continent everyone is welcoming and eager to help.

The hotel is in the heart of the capital so getting around is easy with taxis BUT watch out to make sure you ask how much its cost to reach your desired place as prices are always bumped up if your a "foreigner". The one thing I'd advise is to tip when you can, people work HARD so so a little appreciation plus no better feeling then putting a smile on someone's face.

Good bet for a 4 or 5 Star accommodation in Kampala Dec 29, 2010
This review is long coming. I meant to write this in 2008 when I returned from Kampala. Well, here it is now. Having live in Kampala most of my life, I have stayed at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel on more than 4 occassions. Many of those times were about 10 years ago. However in 2008 I returned home to Kampala and spent a happy afternoon at the Sheraton hotel; the lounge, restuarant and the beautifully kept gardens.

If you are travelling to Kampala and you want a luxurious hotel, you have a sure bet if you choose the Sheraton. It was refurbished not too long ago, so it competes favorably with Kampala Serena Hotel. Part of what makes the service exceptional is the people. They incorporate respect into their every action, offering the best service any visitor can get. The friendly staff will captivate you. You must spend time at the Gardens were history is part and parcel.

Conveniently located within reach of everything; banks, restaurants, entertainment. Infact the Rock bar is right across the street. Kampala road, the main street in Kampala is walking distance from the Hotel gate.

It is pricey, but them again Kampala in general is expensive.
