I had a good time this day.  We caught the train to Kamakura (it took about 20 minutes).  Once we got off we ate at this great Hawiian Burger spot on the way to the beach.  After that we walked down to the water.  they had a little hula show.  It was windy and the sand was …

Kamakura, Japan is not far from Tokyo and well worth a day trip to see The Big Buddha and a Temple that is within walking distance from the Big Buddha.  If you not sure how to get there just go to a train station (or subway) and ask any young person; you will find out they are very friendly an…

I went on a day picnic from Tokyo with my friends. Instead of taking the shorter route thru Tokyo, we took the longer but more scenic Enoden Electric Railways from Shinjuku to Kamakura via Fujisaw. It was a fascnitaing journey thru old towns. We visited the Large Daibutsu Buddha statue, played around a bit on the dirty but quite beach and even managed a short visit to a graveyard at Tokeiji...another interesting weekend in Tokyo!

Just a short train ride from Tokyo is a great beach town. Kamakura has temples, a large sitting Budda, good food, shopping, hiking, beaches and surfing. The hotels are not to expensive but I was just there for the day. The sunset pictures are from Endoshima a short scenic train ride away.
