Kalamata Travel and Tourism Guide

before i start i want to thank: AGLAIA! a great co-traveler! i had a great time being with her for 2 days! we talked endlesly about 100 different things! GEORGE (jake15) he's not a travbuddy but someone i met via internet! he's as good as i was expected him to be, very very sweet!! & GIOULI (giouli) a friend from last year's spanish class, who moved to kalamata, for ever (?!?! hehehe...) always so energetic with a smile on her face! she was the reason for that visit! thank ...

I visit Kalamata in Southern Greece most summers to visit my family. The city is very pleasant with great beaches, an old city quarter, castle and great museums. It's also a handy base to travel to some of the surrounding areas like the Mani (Kardamyli, Stoupa), Koroni, Methoni, Pylos, etc.

Once again visited my family in the southern mainland. Once again I spent most of my time either taking pictures, lounging on a beach or visiting museums. I'll post some really neat pictures from Athens and Crete in another blog entry. I'm now more determined than ever to buy a new, much better camera next summer!

Al gauw pikten we een paar lifters op, en dat bleken toevallig landgenoten van ons te zijn. We hebben nog een gezellig babbeltje met ze gemaakt. Op de plaats waar zij uitstapten, stapten wij ook uit om onze lunch te gebruiken. We namen een heerlijke griekse salade waarna we weer op pad gingen naar Kalamata, waar we ons op de camping gingen omkleden om nog even lekker te gaan zwemmen. Daar fristen we heerlijk van op en al gauw lagen we in de zon. Helaas betrok de lucht en gingen we weer terug ...
