Kahakuloa Vacation Guide
Kahakuloa is located on West Maui's rugged north shore. It is one of the most isolated spots on the island. The views here are absolutely beautiful! There are no major industrial or commercial establishments anywhere in Kahakuloa. The town is pretty much as it was 20 years ago! There are a few roadside stands that sell a broad selection of touristy trinkets such as shell necklaces and local artwork.
The highway that runs through the village is very narrow at some points and drops off the side of a cliff. Don't speed and definitely don't drink and drive here! There are a few sections of the highway that are one-lane and impassable so if you encounter an oncoming vehicle, someone is going to have to reverse or very cautiously move and stop at a passing point which is at the very edge of the cliff.
