Kaffi Hornid

Kaffi Hornid Hofn Reviews
Log Cabin Dining May 16, 2012
This log cabin-looking restaurant is located on the main drag of Hofn on the way to the harbour.
The menu is typical Icelandic: Hamburgers, chicken, fish, soup and they even had pasta on the menu. Also in true Icelandic fashion, everything was on the expensive side. Main dishes from from about 1,500ISK for a basic burger and fries to over 3,000ISK for pasta(?) or lamb. They also had a fully stocked bar. (How can Icelanders afford to eat every day if they accept prices like this???) It must be a popular place though, as there were about 5 other tables of local diners there for lunch. Service was just OK but nothing "above and beyond". The building and furnishings were all new-looking wood and gave a real "backwoods" kind of feel. The food was decent but didn't really distinguish itself other than the setting it was presented in. There must be a cheaper place in town for a quick meal but this restaurant was easy to find and looked nice, so why not? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
