Museum was closed but the grounds were beautiful Aug 31, 2012
I was here while they were evidently remodeling the inside of the palace. The palace itself was built by Peter the Great for his wife Catherine 1. The palace is not overly impressive or large but is a very beautiful building in Kadriorg Park. There is a really nice garden in the back of the palace with several water fountains and statues. It is always immaculately manicured with flowers and hop trellises. I really wish that the inside was open just to go inside and look around but it was nice to stroll through the gardens and view the palace from the outside. The palace acted as the main Art Museum of Estonia and eventually was completely run down by the time the Soviets were overthrown.
