Kachemak Bay State Park - Kayak, Hike and Camp Reviews

Got a water taxi (Smoke Wagon - cool name, cool outfit) across the Bay from Homer for a great couple of days of hiking up to glaciers, camping out on baeches (watching out for bears) and kayaking in stunning waters in and out of islands. Saw loads of wildlife - air, sea and land, and loved it all!
Homer is a cool place to hang out, but "across the Bay" is more attractive, less windy and more beautiful! Plus, there are fewer people, so the wilderness is all your own. The crew at Smoke Wagon were awesome too - thnaks for sorting it all out! Part of the Summer time in Alaska travel blog |
