Ka Lui Restaurant Puerto Princesa Reviews
Healthy Eats at an Affordable Price Sep 03, 2011
I definitely recommend this restaurant, Ka Lui' because it is different from any other restaurants that I've been to from all the places I've traveled. They only serve healthy veggies and seafood dishes that suits every traveler's taste. The price is as affordable as value meals from fast foods. The healthy food they serve ranges from green salads to healthily cooked seafood to fruits and juices. My top favorite recipe and I recommend this to everyone who visits the place, is the Tubattaha Salad. ("Tubattaha" came from the name of a reef in Palawan which is also a protected area, which was also voted as one of the & Wonders of Nature). It is a mixture of fresh blue marlin, green mangoes, lime, onions, red pepper and some other herbs. It is very delicious and affordable and definitely a must-eat here in this restaurant.
The place is also very clean, in which, you would not mind walking barefoot and leaving your shoe wear at the entrance. Not only that. While waiting for your order, you could roam around the place and enjoy some works of art. They also sell souvenirs too such as bags, fans, and accessories made from indigenous materials. Just a warning though. The moment you arrive at Puerto Princesa, especially on week-ends, you better call them for reservation because they tend to be fully-booked even during week days. This is highly recommended by locals so this place is always packed with travelers.
It's a must visit when you go to Puerto Princesa. You will miss one half of your life if you won't. lol.

Authentic Filipino Setting May 11, 2008
When in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, find time to visit this truly remarkable place- Ka Lui restaurant (seafood). Located in 369 Rizal Avenue , walking distance from Puerto Princesa Airport. It is an experience you can remember and will always long to go back to.
The menu isn't exceptional though the management offsets it in the food presentation but the place is truly remarkable.
My pictures dont capture it all but the place is made up of indigenous material- bamboo -nipa hut without a definite sala or commedor......it seemed like a nipa hut that has undergone a lot of extension structure...each one adds character to an otherwise rundown place, the back or perhaps the latest extension is made of a modern art gallery that showcases eclectic art works done by local artist/s. There are wind chimes everywhere, paintings, tapestry, baskets, baul, plants, neatly kept garden, garden benches and what have you.
I recommend this place for its unique Filipino ambiance that is really hard to find in these days of internet and text messaging.
Again, when in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, find time to visit this truly remarkable place- Ka Lui restaurant (seafood). It is an experience you can remember and will always long to go back to.
