Transit stays if you can afford Aug 10, 2014
KLIA 2 is the new airport in Kualalumpur Malaysia, connecting low cost airlines to the south eastern Asian continent. With connections available to the entire Asian continent and even to Australia and Newzealand the hub is always full of activity 24/7 hrs through out time. Many use the clean convenience of the rest room facilities of the Airport and take a slumber in the very very few or I should say scanty seating provided or at quite corners and sometimes wherever possible in the departure level. Many people spend their time at restaurants and shops which are varied and several but there are travelers who are not used to these common comforts. For those who have many hours to spare between flights these comforts may not be adequate and going to the city center or to nearby towns for a transit stay could be expensive and sometimes not viable or risky. To them the airport provides some options during transit and I saw many using these options even though I found it expensive. This yet is the only way to stretch your legs and catch up some most wanted sleep in cool luxury. The port has three such transit stays. The Sama Sama express hotel lounge at 200 Rm will get three stars, The Plaza premium Lounge at level 2 begins with about USD 41 for 2 hrs and onwards would get 4 stars and the Capsule in level 1 providing small space and a common restroom service would cost around 14 USD for 12 hrs onwards would get 2 1/2 stars for comfort. The Tune Hotel belonging to Air Asia at seems to be economical but a 10 minute walk from the airport makes the convenience optional. All of the hotels do have web sites where accommodation can be pre booked.

However these transit stays are expensive for budget travelers using low cost airlines and I for one having checked on the same found it to be a luxurious tourist transit trap.
There are 4 check in sections..
