K21: Museum for the 21st century Arts May 25, 2011
K21 is a shortcut for Kunstammlung einundzwanzig is a museum dedicated for the 20th and 21st century arts in düsseldorf. it is housed in "ständehaus" which was the parliament building of the rhein province of the former kingdom of prussia.
one of the interesting collections of the museum is from the korean-american artist: nam june paik. i've seen his artworks and it is really bizaare for his time. he mostly created art through "destroying" and improvising television sets.
k21 lies in the middle of düsseldorf in a small park overlooking the schwannenspiegel (swan lake). after taking a look in the museum, one can stroll and relax in the park where some benches have a good view of the museum, the lake and a bit of the skyline of düsseldorf.
