Decent Place For A Short Break Feb 14, 2010
Located right in the very centre of Belfast it is an ideal place to base yourself when staying in the city. Sits right on the corner of junction with Howard Street,College Avenue,Grosvenor Road and Great Victoria Street. You can't miss it :D
Reception was busy when we went to check in, but they got through the queue pretty quick, and were apologetic that we had even had to wait at all.Usual offer for early morning alarm calls and free newspapers in the mornings
Good spacious room on the 1st floor, with three lifts available we never had to wait more than a few seconds for going up or down. A brightly lit , newly carpeted corridor leading to the room. Rooms are well decorated, and had a TV and kettle, but not much more. Laundry and ironing service is offered by the hotal, but I was disappointed there was no fridge/mini bar to store stuff in, since I would be having earlier nights than maybe I'm used to.
Breakfast served in the restaurant from 6-45am until 10am, and was reasonable enough, so I'm told by my son.Choice of cereal, or cooked breakfasts, fruit juices and tea or coffee to go with it.
Restaurant, called Innfusion, open for orders until 9-30pm, and has a reasonable coice on the menu. Cooked bar meals are available in the Inntro Bar until the same time.
The bar was OK, but a bit bare and lacked any real atmosphere, but suppose it really is a place for short stay travellers.A bit pricier for a beer than the pubs round about the city.
Taxi rank outside of hotel, and a free courtesy phone, to Fonacab, on the reception desk if none are available. Also from outside hotel there is an Airbus service to Dublin Airport.Short walk along the road to the Europa Bus Terminal, with services to other part of Northern Ireland.
Just a few minutes walk to City Hall and the main shopping areas of Belfast, or going out the main door and turning right, it's a two minute walk to the famous Crown Bar. Couple of mini markets, open until 11pm, between hotel and The Crown if you run out of anything.
Decent place to stay at a reasonable price.
