Junin De Los Andes
Junin de los Andes, Argentina
Junin De Los Andes Reviews
May 22, 2007
Junin is a small town close to the stunningly beautiful Volcan Lanin.
The town has hardly anywhere to stay and has very little in the way of tourists or travellers. It is PERFECT!!
We fell for the small town atmosphere, enjoyed banging our heads on the low roof of the hostel we stayed in...when we arrived we dumped our bags on a bunk and went to sun bathe by the river. The town seems to exist on the riverside at weekends with ball games, swimming and canoeing the chief activities.
For a small town, off the tourist map it has everything you need... including an ATM and a beer filled supermarket!
There is also a mountaineering shop where you can hire all you need to try to conquer Volcan Lanin (ice-axe, crampons, gaiters and walkie-talkie) or you can go with the guy who runs the shop (every weekend).
