Jungle Tours and Trekking Cairns Reviews
Jungle Tours, an adventure in the rainforest Dec 21, 2010
With ‘Jungle Tours’ we did a great, adventurous activity: jungle surfing. You can compare jungle surfing with death riding.
The tour with Jungle Tours starts in Cairns. We stop along the way in Port Douglas to visit the wildlife sanctuary. A nice place with lot’s of inland wildlife. The highlight was the picture with a koala. But you could choose to have your picture taken with a little crocodile too. There’s also a larg domain with wallabies and kangaroos. You can handfeet them.
It was just one hour-stop on our way to Cape Tribulation.
We also stopped a few times along the way to have spectacular viewings over the ocean. (Alexandra Lookout, Rocky Point,...) There’s also al long drivel along the ocean so nice views all the time. (Captain Cook Highway)
Our tourguide, Fraser, was giving us much information during the drive.
When we arrived in Cape Tribulation by bus, we had a tasty, small lunch (hamburger & fries... but there were three meals to choose from), drink included.
Then we had some spare time in Cape Tribulation so we took a walk to Myall Beach. The other members of the group did some exploring of the rainforest, while we went jungle surfing.
After the jungle surf tour, the courtesy bus took us back to Cape Trib. We spent another hour at the beach. It was very beautiful there. Quite unique to have one foot in the rainforest and place the other one onto the beach.
It was a long drive back, but Fraser, our guide, was very chatty so I had a nice talk learning more about Australia.
