Free performance art May 15, 2009
Julliard is one of the most prestigious performing arts school. It pumps out pianists, ballet dancers, actors, etc.
In training their students to perfect their crafts, the students consistently perform for recitals, and plays. Most, if not all of these performances are completely free and open to the general public. There are great live performances daily in several genres of performance arts. Go a few hours ahead of a performance to reserve a seat/ticket or go a half hour ahead for stand by admission. There is a calendar of events listed on their website, and Julliard is easily accessible by all major forms of transportation. |

On the Upper West Side on 66th street there's the "Lincoln Center", consisting of the Metropolitan Opera House with the beautiful Chagall paintings decorating the windows, the Lincoln Center and Walter Reed Theater, the Avery Fisher and Alice Tully …Julliard Music School.
Further north between 77th and 79th street there's the "American Museum of Natural History". Definitely worth a visit, and you should take a whole day. My favorite exhibition is the "Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space… Culture around Central Park |
