Julian's Cafe & Restaurant Bonaire Reviews
Simple, nice eatery, great to sit, eat and watch people Apr 21, 2012
If you are up for a simple but tasteful lunch at the quay in Kralendijk, Bonaire, you may enjoy this place. It is a small restaurant with only a few tables (5 or 6). The menu includes meal salads, burgers (the Julian's burger is actually quite nice), hotdogs, quesedillas, steak, fish catch of the day (usually mahi-mahi, a/k/a dorade).
Had garlic shrimps there twice and the second time they were very good. The grilled fish was also very nice. Original language of the people is Spanish and this led to a funny misunderstanding when i ordered a double espresso. They thought I wanted a double burger quickly, which became evident when they put new fork and knife on the table, and I wanted to make sure that there was no confusion. The misunderstanding was resolved very gracefully and I felt a little sorry about the fact that they already had two new burgers on the grill... By the way, they do not have espresso. The waitress, Ruth, is always friendly with a smile, and on the third visit, after finishing lunch, she came with a nice chocolate cake and whipped cream... offered on the house. This was a very kind surprise which made my day! The location is very nice for people watching, especially on the days that the cruise ships are in the harbor. Relaxed, nice place and very kind people at Julian's. ![]() ![]()
